TechnologySeptember 19, 2014
On Friday, September 19, 2014 at our last WRED event of the year, over 50 attendees joined us at the Landing Mall in Port Angeles, WA for the second event in a two-part series on fiber recycling, "Future of Fiber II: Emerging Trends & Technology."
With coffee and pastries in hand, attendees enjoyed a morning of networking with peers at the waterfront banquet room overlooking the port on the second floor of the Landing Mall. Rob Feller with Nippon Paper Industries began the day’s presentations with an in depth overview of Nippon’s history, operations and challenges.
From there attendees took a short ride down the road for a behind-the-scenes tour of Nippon Paper Mill guided by knowledgeable and energetic staff who answered questions and helped explain the day-to-day operations of the mill.
Before the day ended, attendees got a chance to ask questions regarding the day’s agenda to our panel of speakers where recycling challenges, educational outreach opportunities and future market issues were discussed in more detail.
Thank you to all of our sponsors, speakers, Precious Metal Members, WRED Committee members, hosts and attendees for another successful WRED event!
