WSRA 2014 Recycled Fashion Show
May 5 | The Hilton | Vancouver, WA
On Monday, May 5, at the Hilton in Vancouver, WA, over 30 models strutted their stuff down the catwalk in the name of recycled fashion. Each model wore a handmade outfit designed out of repurposed materials that would have otherwise gone to the landfill. Materials from coffee filters and bike tubes to dog food bags and fencing were all used demonstrating that our materials can go much further than we think.
This year's show included designs from students at the International Academy of Design and Technology (IADT) who competed for the top three prizes. The audience voted on their top three favorite designs and the winners were announced! Congratulations to our top winner, Tetra Hedric for your incredible use of Pepsi cans, computer cords, bottle caps and more to fashion an eye-opening design called "Trash the System."
Thank you to all volunteer designers, models and helpers for making this year's show another incredible highlight of our Annual Conference & Trade Show! We'll see you next year!
