Recycle “Anything with a plug” at InterConnection’s Free 2015 eCycle Event
Seattle, WA – 3/27/2015 - InterConnection.org and CenturyLink are hosting a major, city-wide electronics recycling event at CenturyLink Field’s North Parking Lot on Saturday April 11th. InterConnection’s 2015 eCycle Event will give the community a chance to recycle any used electronics they have free of charge. People can recycle personal devices like cell phones and laptops, household items such as TVs and stereos as well as kitchen appliances both large and small. Anything with a plug will be accepted.
This event would not be possible without the support of several industry leaders including CenturyLink, Seattle Public Utilities, Total Reclaim, Swanson’s Nursery and Recology CleanScapes. Partners and donors can feel good knowing their participation in the 2015 eCycle event is making a difference. All donated technology that is reusable will be refurbished by InterConnection for charitable reuse helping low-income families and nonprofits around the Seattle-area get connected.
The 2015 eCycle event also serves as a good reminder for the community, as to how critical recycling really is. The 2015 eCycle Event will prevent thousands of electronics from going to the landfill and polluting our environment, while giving back to the community. Not only does recycling help the environment but it bolsters the economy. According to the Institute of Local Self-Reliance, only 1 job is created for every 10,000 tons of solid waste going into landfills. The same amount of waste kept out of landfills, creates 10 recycling jobs or 75 materials reuse jobs.
Items Accepted: Everything with a plug – computers and IT related electronics will be handled by InterConnection, everything else will be handled by Total Reclaim.
Date & Time: Saturday, April 11th from 10 AM – 2 PM
Location: CenturyLink Field Parking Lot North – entry via South King Street
