Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) is requesting proposals for recycling processing services to start April 1, 2016. The Request for Proposals pertains to processing Seattle’s approximately 90,000 tons per year of recyclables collected from single-family households, apartments and small businesses. This includes paper, cardboard, metal, cans & bottles and mixed plastics collected under separate City contracts. The processing services do not include recyclables collected from businesses by independent open market haulers.
Proposals with response to the Final RFP are due on January 2, 2015 by 2 p.m. with presentations by Proposers at the City’s option to take place on February 12, 2015. Notification of the selected contractor(s) is anticipated by March 3, 2015 with final contract negotiation, approval by the City Council and contract signing to take place by June 30, 2015.
