Finalists Announced for the 2014 Recycling

Innovators Forum

August 18, 2014
Big ideas, meet the Big Easy.
New Orleans is the location for the finals of the second annual Recycling Innovators Forum, a unique competition in which inventors vie for funding for actionable recycling-related technologies and topics.  The event, taking place Monday, Sept. 15 at 1 p.m. at the Hilton Riverside, is free and open to all members of the recycling and business communities.
Click here to register for the Forum and deepen your connection to the future of recycling.
This year's Forum received more than 60 proposals, and the individuals behind eight of the most intriguing ideas will present their concepts to a panel of judges from some of the leading firms and organizations in the materials management sector. Two winners will walk away with a combined $40,000 to take their innovations to the next level.
The Forum's presentations will be given from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hilton Riverside, and a reception will follow, allowing audience members to meet face-to-face with the presenters.  The Forum is co-located with the Resource Recycling Conference - if you're heading to the conference, be sure to add the Forum to your agenda.
For more information on the eight projects to be presented, head here. This year's competition allowed entrants to register in one of two categories. The Enterprise / Institution side includes projects backed by larger companies and groups with established ties to the industry. The Garage Innovator cate! gory, meanwhile, highlights innovations backed by a single individual, a startup team or a new organization.  The winner in each category will be awarded a $20,000 prize, plus plenty of industry exposure.
The 2014 Recycling Innovators Forum is sponsored by Alcoa, the American Chemistry Council Plastics Division, Coca-Cola Recycling, Resource Recycling, Inc. and Waste Management.
