WSRA Hosts Fiber Recycling Event

--The Washington State Recycling Association (WSRA), a trade organization
representing the state’s diverse recycling industry, is hosting one of a series
of educational events focusing on fiber recycling on Friday, September 27 from
9:30am to 3:00pm. This Washington Recycles Every Day (WRED) event will take
place at LeMay Pierce County Refuse in Tacoma, WA and will feature
presentations by a panel of recycling commodities
experts from local Materials Recovery Facilities (MRFs).
The panel of experts will be sharing their insights into challenges
they face with processing as well as where opportunities for improvement exist.
John Lucini of SP Recycling will be presenting on their perspective as a local
MRF processing single stream recycling. Other topics of discussion will revolve
around the impact and outcome of what China’s
Green Fence Initiative might mean for the future
of fibers and other recyclables.
"The Washington State Recycling Association strives to create
opportunities for in-depth discussion and behind-the-scenes experiences that
showcase local, national and international recycling systems. This Friday’s
event is the first of two all-day workshops focused on the long-term health and

The event will finish with a guided tour of SP Recycling where attendees
will gain a better understanding of the process behind single stream recycling.

This event is open to the public and includes lunch, topic discussions
and networking opportunities with leaders in the recycling industry of
