Participate in a WSRA committee to get the most out of your membership!  Committee membership gives you the opportunity to give back to your association, have fun, network and establish relationships with like-minded individuals and organizations.

Conference

This group plans and executes a financially successful Annual Conference and Tradeshow, focused on developing educational content and sessions, planning facility tours and networking activities.

  • Committee Chairs: Alli Kingfisher (WA Dept. of Ecology), Margot Keany (Republic Services), & Abby Hart (Republic Services)
  • Subcommittees Include: 
    • AwardsThis committee plans and executes the Recycler of the Year Awards and Hall of Fame program designed to recognize the top achievers in Washington’s recycling community.
    • Golf - This group plans our Annual Golf Scramble that kicks off the Conference 
    • Student Guest - This committee executes the annual Student Guest scholarship program for students that apply to attend our conference. 

Membership 

This committee is responsible for the development of membership as well as linking the association together by engaging current and new members.

Member Programs & Services

This committee plans WSRA's Washington Recycles Every Day (WRED) event series. This committee also creates programs that educate, inform, and stimulate membership professional development – making WSRA the primary learning and knowledge source for recycling professionals in Washington.

Newsletter

This committee is responsible for the creation, promotion and distribution of WSRA's quarterly newsletter, The Report.

Policy & Advocacy

This committee monitors and evaluates legislative and regulatory issues of interest to the WSRA membership, develop educational papers, and make recommendations to the Board of Directors. The Policy and Advocacy Committee also hosts a Members Only Policy and Advocacy Forum that members can access by logging into the website (Click the Member Login Button at the top!). You can find the forum under "Community Forum".
