Do you have a broken lamp, blender or chair? No need to trash it – instead bring it to the free Repair Café on Monday, March 14th, 3 – 7 PM, at Federal Way City Hall, 33325 8th Ave S, Federal Way. Skilled “fixers” will be there to help you repair your damaged or broken items. Residents are encouraged to sign-up in advance and describe what small household items you’ll bring for repair. Walk-ins are welcome and everyone will be assisted as time is available. Our goals for this event include: keeping stuff out of the landfill, conserving resources, and saving people money.

Please only bring items small enough to be easily carried by one person. Do not bring any items that are leaking, dangerous, contain gasoline, or have a strong odor. You must be present during the repair. For items needing product-specific parts, we’ll try to determine what's needed so you can buy parts and finish the repair yourself at home. Keep in mind that some items may not be repairable, and you assume any risk if attempted repairs result in further disrepair.

This event is brought to you by the King County EcoConsumer program, the City of Federal Way, and the South King Tool Library. To sign up or if you have questions please contact Tom Watson, King County EcoConsumer, at 206-477-4481 or Tom.Watson@KingCounty.gov.
