Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is on the cutting edge of policy and programmatic shifts, from managing waste to a more holistic approach of full life-cycle “materials management.” Oregon took another major step in their efforts this year with the adoption of two pieces of legislation. On this webinar, DEQ thought leaders and practitioners David Allaway and Abby Boudouris will summarize the bills and describe the extensive stakeholder process that led to the legislative successes, DEQ’s implementation plans, as well as highlight new work and research.

The vision for this work is detailed in Oregon’s Materials Management in Oregon: 2050 Vision and Framework for Action, adopted in 2012.
