Webinar: The State of the Art of Extended Producer Responsibility in the US
Wed, Aug 12, 2015 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM PDT

The State of the Art of Extended Producer Responsibility in the USThe nature of US discussions on EPR in general and for packaging have changed significantly in the past six months. 2014 saw the creation of Wal-Mart’s Closed Loop Recycling Fund and the Recycling Partnership - new voluntary initiatives to provide loans and grants to communities for recycling, paid for by major consumer goods companies.

These initiatives mark an admission by corporate America that they bear some responsibility for helping pay to recycle the packaging they put into the marketplace.

This Webinar will discuss the transition of thinking and practice of EPR for packaging. Neil Seldman, ILSR and Matt Prindiville, from UPSTREAM will present. Maurice Sampson, Niche Recycling and board member of Clean Water Action, will moderate. In addition to these presentations, the Webinar will feature responses to the presentations by key participants in the national EPR dialogue. These experts will include Dan Knapp and Mary Lou Van Deventer, Urban Ore, Heidi Sanborn, California Product Stewardship Council, and Dick Lilly, Seattle Metropolitan Solid Waste Authority.
