Where does the recycling manager find a new source of money to build a recycling program? How can private investment stimulate your diversion?

As new technologies need increasing amounts of capital to build recycling program infrastructure, and as markets based solutions drive the need for more feedstock, the Pennsylvania Recycling Markets Center (RMC) is proud to partner with the Closed Loop Fund.

In April 2013, Walmart convened 30 recycling, consumer product and supply chain experts to discuss how to increase recycling in the United States. The participants cited systemic challenges that shared the same root cause: cities lack or do not have access to the capital required to invest in the infrastructure needed to increase recycling rates. The convening led Walmart and Ron Gonen to co-develop the Closed Loop Fund. The Closed Loop Fund has been formed with invested capital from manufacturers, consumer goods companies, retailers, and recyclers who are committed to helping cities in North America achieve high recycling rates.

This webinar will introduce the $100 Million Dollar Closed Loop Fund. The Fund has been founded to provide municipalities zero interest loans and private firms engaged in public-private partnerships below market interest loans, specifically to spur investments in municipal recycling programs. The speaker(s) will also introduce how the funds can be accessed via the proposal process.

Founding investors in the Closed Loop Fund are: Walmart and the Walmart Foundation, Coca-Cola, PepsiCo and the PepsiCo Foundation, Johnson & Johnson Family of Consumer Companies, Procter & Gamble, Unilever, Keurig Green Mountain, Colgate Palmolive and Goldman Sachs.

Speakers:

Ron Gonen, Closed Loop Fund Co-Founder
Bob Bylone, President & Executive Director, PARMC
