Happy Hour 4pm-6pm
McMenamins Kennedy School

Recycling programs are often built around a single market and AOR’s spring forum will examine the importance of diversifying end markets. Using the recovery of urban wood waste as an example, the forum will examine the flow of materials, the current markets for wood waste, and take a look market alternatives. Together we’ll explore situations that could cause other recycling markets to disappear and talk about the effects this has on the rest of the recycling system. We’ll spend the last hour of the forum in small groups discussing what is needed in Oregon to ensure that we are supporting market development and have more flexibility in our programs when markets change. We'll end the day with a report from each group.
