Now 85 years old, The Beer Store’s 100% industry-driven and funded deposit return program for beer containers has recovered an estimated 75 billion beer bottles. In 2007, the program was expanded when the organization entered into a landmark multi-year contract with the Ontario government to take back and refund deposits on all wine, spirit and cooler containers sold in Ontario through the Ontario Deposit Return Program. This unique program currently reuses or recycles an average of 4,000 containers every minute of every day of every year.  It is undoubtedly one of the most successful waste diversion programs in Ontario, if not all of North America.

Panelists:
Brian Zeiler-Kligman, Director of Sustainability for Canada's National Brewers will give us a behind-the-scenes look at The Beer Store’s operations and share the secrets to the program’s success.

JUST ADDED - Usman Valiante, Senior Policy Analyst for Corporate Policy Group, LLC will provide valuable insight on the importance of material quality through the eyes of the end-user, Owens-Illinois (O-I), the world’s leading glass bottle manufacturer.

We hope you will join us on November 7th as we discuss the economic and environmental value created in Ontario through sourcing materials from deposit vs. curbside streams.

After registering you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the Webinar.
